Job Summary:

This role requires a high level of initiative and responsibility. The HR Generalist supports hands-on operations while also playing a critical role in system modernization, compliance, and strategic planning. As a key strategic partner to the HR Director, you will support the department’s modernization efforts while helping to build a high-performing, people-centered HR function from the ground up. Job Duties:

Under general supervision of the HR Director, this position supports daily HR operations while also contributing to long-term department modernization and development. This is not an entry-level position. We are seeking someone who thrives in a hands-on role and is eager to grow into a future leadership position. The HR Generalist plays a vital role in promoting an ethical, inclusive, and compliant workplace and serves as a trusted partner to both employees and leadership.

• Coordinate and manage the full employee life cycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance support, and offboarding

• Administer employee benefits, including open enrollment, Section 125 plans, and ACA reporting

• Maintain and audit HRIS records and support the department’s digital transformation

• Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws (FMLA, ADA, EEO, FLSA, etc.)

• Provide guidance on policy interpretation and support positive employee relations

• Conduct job analysis and assist with classification and compensation planning

• Monitor CDL testing, probation periods, and key documentation requirements

• Prepare compliance reports such as EEO-4 and ACA filings

• Contribute to employee engagement programs, HR communications, and training

• Utilize tools like Excel, SharePoint, DocuSign, Teams, and HRIS platforms

• Embrace and promote the use of AI tools and emerging HR technologies


Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)

• 5–8 years of progressive HR experience preferred

• PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred or obtainable within 18 months of hire


Skills and Abilities:

• Strong knowledge of employment law and compliance reporting

• Proficiency in HRIS systems, Microsoft Excel, and digital workflows

• Excellent interpersonal, writing, and organizational skills

• Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter with a positive, ethical, and innovative mindset

• Collaborative team player with strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Comfort working in a hybrid environment and contributing to department growth

• Familiarity with AI tools and technology-driven HR practices is highly valued


Work Environment:

• Office-based with hybrid work flexibility

• May involve occasional off-site meetings or engagement events

 • Must be able to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information

 • Occasional lifting up to 10 pounds
